Be sure to read and understand each section. Product description As an instructor, have you struggled to demonstrate how a clutch system works to your students ? The new EC-1120 is a working system of actual, all new components so that students can visualize the mechanical operation of a hydraulically operated clutch and make your life easier as an instructor. • Total visibility of all clutch components without the limitations of working under a vehicle. • Talkes the mystery out of clutch operation. • Sits on a bench or tabletop to allow more student access and visibility of operation. • All new Honda clutch components are used. What is a clutch ? In most automobiles and light or heavy-duty trucks there is an engine, a transmission, axles and wheels. This drivetrain transfers the rotational power produced by the engine through the transmission, turning the axles and then the wheels in order to move the vehicle forward, backward or remain stationary. A manual transmission vehicle requires the shifting of transmission gearing to be done manually, or by the hand of the driver. The engine and transmission are connected by a clamping device called a clutch and this clutch also allows for the engine to be disconnected from the transmission temporarily while driving to allow for manually shifting of forward or reverse gears. And since the engine and wheels are directly connected, when the vehicle wheels are slowed to a stop by the brakes the clutch is then used to “un-clamp” the driveline from the engine so the engine doesn’t also get dragged to a stop condi- tion. The purpose of this trainer is to visually illustrate the operation of a hydraulically operated clutch system through cut- away components and actual hand operation to illustrate this clamping effect. How our trainer achieves this ? In the EC-1120 Clutch Operation Trainer, ConsuLab has incorporated actual vehicle clutch components arranged in the correct order just like in a real vehicle.
