One of ConsuLab’s objectives for designing their products is to provide a “hands-on” learning environment that engages students and instills interest in learning. Our products with learning assignments can consist of many different types of student activities which may include some or all of the below elements: Step-by-step instructional procedures designed with specific learning outcomes and objectives. There may be a student answer sheet that is filled out and turned in to instructors for grading. Specific measurements using electrical test equipment including digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, amp-probes, etc. Students will submit their measurements on an answer sheet specific for each product assignment. Students might be asked to interpret certain operating characteristics of a product and respond with a narrative of their understanding on an answer sheet. Some products may have training video’s that can be viewed by students for additional learning activities. Students may be asked to identify certain product components with assignments asking for correct identification or perhaps using magnetic labels placed in appropriate positions. Some products have student group assignments designed for engagement and learning. Students may be asked to construct electrical circuits using provided wires and schematics. Many products have the ability to insert real-world faults that students are asked to properly diagnose and repair. The instructor has control on how many and what specific faults are inserted. Products may have system operational theory assignments that explain how a system functions. Many of our products have “test points” for the hookup of diagnostic test equipment including meters, oscilloscopes and scan tools.
The training aids that we have from Consulab are excellent, and are much more detailed than the other companies that offer similar products. I use them while teaching in my class, and the students really understand when the cutaways are right there, rather than just a picture in a book. Your Sales and Service have been great!Marc Michaud, Lee County High Tech Central
