Vehicles today are more sophisticated than ever before. Instructors and technicians are faced with new challenges in learning new systems and methods of diagnostic strategies and routines. Being an efficient and successful technician requires a lifetime of continued learning. Although, it is often easy to become overwhelmed with new technologies and seem to inundate us with every new vehicle model year, successful technicians will continue to address these challenges and do all they can to keep up to date and when possible, obtain the required new test equipment needed to properly repair these vehicles. This presentation is designed to review the fundamental diagnostic skills that have been required for years and to present new systems and technologies that are becoming more common in today’s vehicles. It is also designed to reinforce to students the importance of proper electrical diagnosis using the proper diagnostic equipment. “Guesswork” can be extremely expensive and can also cause very expensive collateral damage to vehicles today.

Please let everyone know the C-12 trainers are working great, they are a big hit with all the top brass when they stop by for a site visit. The students love that lab portion they all really seem to understand the Cat systems more at the end than when they rst get to class. You can see that light bulb go off in their head after the rst couple of bugs. Thanks!CM1(SCW) Ingram, Mickey, CM Advanced School Instructor, NCTC Gulfport, MS
