Mounted on the test bench, the CL-246 can be coupled within seconds to any Consulab 1/3 HP rotating machines to establish the load of a machine. It is equipped with a magnetic particle brake in which the stator is assembled with a balance arm and load cell system, as well a rotor driven by the tested machine. The load torque is directly proportional to the control voltage and fully independent from the rotor rotation speed. Can be linked to any CMC work station.

In internal mode, the CL-246 is controlled with a potentiometer and its load torque measurements can be read in the analog meter display. In external mode, the unit can also be operated with 0-5V DC external drives or by computer and dedicated software. For ease of identification and use, the specifications and schematic diagrams are silk-screened on the reverse of the clear front panel.
